Hmmm
So, next update will most likely be next week, I have to do some reshuffling and I'm really hoping I'll be hit with that 'bing!' moment and I can rewrite everything so you can get that moment of excitement throughout because I feel that moment has been missing for a while.
This whole story needs a rewrite, the earlier chapters just need to be tightened and fixed to match my current style but some of the newer chapters need to be written to capture the moments of the older ones better. Like, you know when you read a cute scene and you get that little thrum and it's just awesome? I want to be able to write that back.
Sigh, but this story ends in two chapters, three if we count the epilogue and I'm not too sure I'll get back into the groove but it will be fixed in the rewrite.
Anyway, to make up for not being able to update today, I thought it would be fun to show you guys one of the alternate openings for this story. I think I like this opening a bit better than the old one. The names have been redacted because I'm not sure if I want the reader to know who the guy is since part of the plot is the main character trying to figure out who her soulmate is in her present even as she ends up experiencing her past lives to try and see where they went wrong. Of course, it might be fun for the reader to know and have those 'how can you not see it!?' moments, or those 'it has to be him!' but that way may lead to readers picking favourites that will never happen and imaginary love triangles popping up and messing with my flow.
I was going to do a snippit from Missy's story, a scene that includes one of her flashbacks to see how you guys feel about it but then I don't know if it would be too spoilerish or if you'd even want to see it so I opted not too. I might later on though, it'll be interesting to see how people react to Missy before she mellowed out in her teens.

She wasn't his type.
Small, delicate and with massive hair and wearing heels, she was too cute for
him. He liked girls who looked older than their age, not younger, girls who
didn't look like they'd think going to the zoo was a great way to spend the day.
He dragged his eyes
away from her, or tried too, not quite sure what it was about her that had
caught his attention in the first place. The room was dimly light, candles
being the main source of lighting, an attempt to keep the atmosphere romantic
he was sure, and all he could see was a bit of her profile, and not even that
as her hair was in the way.
Her body, however,
was definitely his type, even if at first he'd taken her for a child because of
her height. She was all curves, small and compact and as she did a hip roll to
the encouraging motions of her friends, his pants felt just a tad bit tighter.
He shifted in his seat and took another sip from his glass before forcing
himself to look away.
Then he heard her
laugh, something that should've been impossible considering the volume of the
music and the fact that he was sitting by the bar and she was at the edge of
the dance floor. But he heard it, and he knew it was her, and his heart jumped
at the same time as his skin seemed to catch on fire. Before he knew it he was
up and moving, heading towards her when his arm was caught by someone who was
definitely not pocket sized and tasty.
He swallowed a
growl, turning to see none other than [BFF] grinning down at him, a leggy
brunette on his right, and a busty blonde on his left.
"Ladies, I'd
like you to meet [his name here], son and heir to the [last name here] fortune.
Isn't he adorable?" [MMC] gave him the finger, not even bothering with
niceties since he knew how he felt about being labelled adorable. At 5'8 he
wasn't small, per se, but the males he hung around with tended to be 5'11 if
they were on the smaller side, making him the bunt of the jokes.
Of course, if they
were to ever get into a pissing contest, he would win on the basis of the fact
that they viewed the size of your inheritance the way poorer boys looked at
their penises, and his future inheritance made him a straight twelve incher.
Impressive and just a little hard to take.
