Scribbles and Updates

Hey you guys, sorry for being so late with updates! I hope everything has been going well for you guys and 2014 has been better than 2013! For me, things are quite a bit different. Work has been hectic, I was moved to another team and now I'm working on three accounts instead of just focusing on one so I had to learn the ropes and then there was a mass firing (I wasn't let go) but we were given additional responsibilities so I've just been focusing on staying on top of everything in my main job. Writing wise I've been doing a lot of thinking, not just about IWOAK but my other completed stories that I should have rewritten and revised but haven't gotten very far on. It doesn't make sense that I'm having such a hard time to get really into the writing/rewriting of finished stories (WDC, IWOAK) or stories I already have major plot points figured out (FFYT, OMN). The main issue is the mind set I'm in now versus the mindset I was in when I started. Wh...

Happy 2013 all! I just wanted to thank all of you for the support over the years, this year especially since I know my writing has slowed down quite a bit and life kept intruding and I have yet to perfect the art of multi-tasking to that degree. This isn't going to be super long, just letting you know that IWOAK will be updated by the end of this week, Sunday at the latest. The chapter is complete I'm honestly just trying to work out a few kinks but I won't be ditching huge chunks of text (I don't think) lol. Hey all, So chapter 34 is coming along. It's actually pretty much done but I did all the typing on my cellphone on the ride too and from work and now I'm trying to catch all the typos on a real computer when I have the time, but my spellcheck is being sometimesish about catching the mistakes, even stupid ones that are a result of my thumb hitting the wrong button so hopefully I can get it all cleaned up and finished for this weekend but if not, next week for sure. Now, I don't know how many of you have heard, but there was an incident at a mall in Toronto that is basically the major mall for the city. Everyone goes there. It's a three minute walk from my work and when you're in highschool it's a 'destination' mall. Hey all, I know, I went off grid for a while but I'm still here. Started my internship three weeks ago and I've been commuting/working/commuting/sleeping. Lol. I have been writing on the commute though, it's an hour twenty both ways not counting the fifteen minute walk to and from the bus stop and then to and from my work so when I'm awake enough I'm putting in work, it's just finding the time to actually type it up. internship ends this Friday [ please let me get hired, please, please, please ] and there's no guarantee I'll get kept so there's that. Of course, it's my little brother's birthday tomorrow as well as a friend of mines so this weekend will probably be celebrating with them. Um, what else. I know some of you are worried that I'm not going to finish but I am working on it. School officially started last week so I wanted to get the chapter done by this weekend but the transition is killing me. At some point in time, I took a scene that should've happened earlier out/altered it and now a scene I need to write for this chapter isn't working because its set up is built on what should've happened in the removed scene. I think I've figured out how to fix it but we'll see if I'm able to get it out this week as planned since third week [of school] is when everything will start to really pick up. Also, someone asked when we'll be seeing a happier Judi... not for a while. Her house of cards is tumbling and things are coming to light that she either has chosen to ignore or didn't about are coming to light.

School is finished for the term, so I'm focused on getting chapter 32 done and posted by Christmas. I'm really aiming to have the story complete before the new year starts even if the other chapters have to be handwritten with point form thrown in for ideas I don't have the words to get complete, lol. It might not get posted until the new year starts but I just want to be secure in the fact that I have it complete, lol. We'll see how well that goes since my baby brother alone has me all over the place (he has never met a club he didn't want to join so we're going to a bunch of Christmas concerts for him now. I'm actually pretty proud about that, lol, not to mention this is the first time in almost five years that I've been able to go to one of his concerts). But seriously, I do need to step my game up. I feel so behind on everything. I'm behind on review replies for chapter thirty ( I usually try to get them out either the same day as the new chapter has been posted or a day or two after), chapter 30 was posted mad late (it was supposed to be up for Halloween) and I was supposed to post a blog a few days ago. IWOAK Currently working on IWOAK32 (scene transitions hate my life, I thought I had gotten better then I get to this chapter. Oy) and decided to take a slight break because everything is getting frustrating. I know what I want, I know the emotions I have to get across but nothing is working the way it needs too. So frustrating. I'm also worried that some things might seem like they came out of nowhere, which to be fair, they do. but Judi has either been in the dark about certain things or willfully forgetting stuff and since she's the main character and the only person we hear from, you learn things when she does. I just wanted to make a general post to thank everyone for the support with the plagiarism issue. It still hasn't been taken down and still hasn't responded back to my message but I still want to thank everyone for taking the time to message her/fanfiction about the issue. I'm not sure what I'm going to do now but I'll continue to work on it and watch her. From the way she hasn't responded I'm getting the vibe she might either just let the story die and continue to 'write' on another site or wait until she thinks the hype has gone down and then post. Hey you guys, I want to thank you for your patience and kind words, the funeral was last Saturday and it was harder than I expected considering he had been sick since last summer and he was just getting worse. Since I doubt the latest chapter will up anytime as soon as you'd like and for Choices the first person is killing me I figured I'd give you a look at one of my 'babies', lol. My 'babies' are stories that I came up with when I was younger and I still adore or I doubt have the skill to actually write. This is the opening of my first ever straight romance from a  possible series called StarCrossed. I started it when I was 17/18 but didn't have the skill to put it where I wanted it to go. It took me forever to get this opening chapter and it's still no where as good as it could be.  Hope you enjoy and I am working on IWOAK30,  I was actually writing it when I decided to take a break and do a progress report thingle.

So, this chapter is hell. HELL. I have written over 10 000 words and had to scrap all of it because it was shit. None of the characters sounded like themselves, it felt stiff, it was boring and just ugh. It's one of the most emotional scenes in the story and it's just not coming out properly. I think the problem is that I have nothing to draw from to write it. I mean, I know she feels betrayed and hurt and angry, but how would she react? Once I figure that out I think I can finally get it to actually work and flow like her.  I have managed to rewrite about 3 000 words but a little over 2 000 are most likely going to get scrapped because 1. it still doesn't have the oomph I need and the voice is off and 2.it's backstory that is necessary for the story but not for the readers. So to make up for my lack of presence I'm going to put it up on here. If I don't finish the current chapter by the end of this month I'm aiming to post another one of AJ's POV...
